Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)

The Securities and Exchange Brand of India was established on April 12, 1992 in accordance with the provision of the 'Securities and Exchange Brand of India Act, 1992'.

The act has given wide range of powers to SEBI to regulate stock exchange, other security market, market intermediaries, mutual fund and self regulatory organizations of the market players.

The objective of setting up SEBI is to protect the interest of the investors in securities and to promote the development and to regulate the security market.
